Daisy Wedding

This past weekend we had a fun time working with Bride Robyn on her daisy filled wedding!

Robyn and Mike were married right outside of Rockefeller Plaza at the Pulse Restaurant, how fun!

We created pretty daisy filled arrangements, bouquets and a wedding cake.

The centerpieces were made using tin containers that we painted purple and charcoal grey. We filled them with live grass and daisy blossoms.

Check out the little video clip of the reception space!

We also helped the bride with creating the table numbers, bar cocktail signs, and other little details.

We had a great time working with Robyn, and were so happy to see her get married on a beautiful NYC spring Saturday!

Congrats!

Making Antiqued/Distressed Wood Boxes

Besides flowers and cakes, we love to create and build...and now we're building custom antiqued centerpiece flower boxes.

Since it was a fun endeavour, I've decided to share this work-in-progress project...and also a little glimpse into the very "glamorous" life of a wedding florist/stylist/decorator/etc.

We were able to get our hands on a old shelving unit that was headed to the scrap pile, and decided to give this piece a new life as some fun custom centerpiece boxes.

The old shelves had some marking of age, but we wanted MORE. After cutting and assembling the boxes, I attacked them with a sander, wood chisel, stainless steel grinder and a knife. :)

(Old paint can mean lead paint, so always wear protective gear...boots probably also should have been worn).

After getting some aggression out on these poor boxes, they received a few coats of light grey wood stain, and another round of sanding.

The "distressed" wood boxes came out better than we could have hoped for...can't wait to use them for Robyn's wedding later this Spring.

Thanks!

Springtime NYC Wedding

Tulips, anemones, rononculous...oh my!

A few months ago we had the pleasure of working with Mardi on creating a fun spring-inspired bouquet, bout and wedding cake. These items were surprise gifts to friends who were having a civil ceremony in NYC...what a nice friend, right?!

Mardi was kind enough to share some pictures of the flowers.

The bouquet flowers consist of: anemones, rononculous, frosted tulips, kangaroo paws, and accents of dusty miller.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us, and congrats to the happy couples!

Love,
