Italian adventure

My husband and I were lucky enough to be able to attend our dear friends Faye and Michael's wedding in Italy back at the start of October.  The wedding was held in the most glorious agriturismo in the Valpolicella region.  Faye, a very creative girl, had planned and made everything down the bread bags for the dinner tables (made from of dish cloths, they were so cute!).  But Faye asked me to do the flowers.  She ordered them, gave me some inspiration pictures of what look she was going for and left me to it!  Here are a few pictures of the results!

We had the most amazing time at the wedding.  It was such a honor to be able to do what I love for friends.  Thank you for letting us be part of your special day and weekend.

Katherine and Simon, Maine

After some delay, here are some pictures from Katherine and Simon's Maine wedding held at Wolfe Neck Farm.  The farm provided the field and Katherine had to work out the rest.  We were thrilled that Katherine decided to go with us for her out of state big day (especially as it meant that we got to have a Maine lobster roll while we were there!)
We were a traveling flower shop that weekend.  Living out the back of our the car we did all the flowers, the table top paper good, wishing tree and photo wall to name a few.  We were really pleased how everything came together... and hope that the bride and groom thought so too.

Anna and Jourdan's BK Wedding

A few weeks ago we had a great time working with Anna and Jourdan. The ceremony was held on a rooftop in Park Slope then everyone jumped on the ferry over to the Java Street Pier in Greenpoint... HOW FUN!
The reception was at Paulie Gee's...a great little Italian restaurant on Greenpoint Avenue.

Jourdan and Anna wanted fun and easy flowers that would coordinate with their grey and yellow color palette, and bring in an autumnal feeling.

We were able to do this by using ranunculus, billy buttons, garden roses, succulents, dusty miller and kumquats.

In addition to flowers, we also provided the wooden stumps and table name cards. Anna and Jourdan named each table after a borough of NYC, which was a very fun idea. We also decorated the tables with pears and crab apples.

The wedding cake was made by a family friend, Liz (author of a great cooking blog). We helped to assemble and decorate this tasty and cool looking cocounut cake.

We had a great time working with the ladies, and also Jourdan's mom Josiane.

Amazing Best Man Speech

This past Labor Day T&B travelled up to Freeport Maine for Kath & Simon's wedding. During the reception we heard an amazing Best Man speech...which was actually an amazing song.

The best man along with the bridal party and some friends surprised everyone with an amazing homage to Simon's love for Katherine!

Check it out!

Lisa's Wine Inspired BK Wedding

T&B had a great time helping Lisa and Ralph with their wedding day flowers. The couple's ceremony and intimate family reception occurred at Scottadito Toscana Restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

We were inspired by the restaurant's wine cellar dining room and the Bride's love of golden pheasant feathers. We mixed dusty pinks with brown accents and gold pheasant feathers to create unique bouquets and centerpieces. We also created vases out of wine bottles by cleaning, cutting and sanding the edges of used red wine bottles.

Each place setting was accented with a gold plate charger and place card decorated with feathers and a sprig of herb and greenery.

The result was a uniquely inspired fall wedding decor.

The Bride look beautiful and her wedding was uniquely gorgeous!

Thanks!

Birthday Wreaths!

A little overdue, but earlier this summer T&B was proud to make a few flower wreaths and head pieces for Kerry, a fantastic musician from our very own Williamsburg Brooklyn.

It was Kerry's birthday and she wanted to have a stunning wreath to coordinate with her stunning vintage dress. T&B also created several flower head pieces for Kerry's friends, so all the ladies could strut around in style during the birthday celebration.

Also, check out Kerry's band page: The Beach Project. We had a great time listening to her music while crafting the fun flower arrangements!

A charming tea

My dear friend Faye was in town from Italy this weekend.  And to celebrate her upcoming nuptials we took her to tea at The Plaza.  Faye's maid of honor come up with the loveliest idea, a charm bracelet filled with charms that we, her friends got her.  It looked so sweet and Faye loved it!

(The lighting at tea was not so good, so sorry for the rubbish picture!  The tea and scones were delicious though! Mmmm!)

Only 3 weeks to go till Faye and Michael's wedding now, I can't wait to be there, celebrate and make some pretty flowers!

Logs...logs and more logs!

Here at T&B we've been busy little bees...or bobos, making all sorts of fun items for Katherine and Simon's wedding...some of these items have been birch log decorations.

We're cutting different types of birch logs into logs of varying heights which will serve as beautiful table decorations, accented by candles, and some being used as table number cards.

We're also using birch logs as place card holders.

We love birch, and it's been a fun saw dust filled summer!

We're already excited to post pictures of the final product come wedding day.

A few weeks ago T&B had a great time making a wreath for Bride Britta. The bride requested a delicate and white flower head wreath for her NYC wedding celebration.

The wreath and Bride Britta both came out looking stunning!

Congratulations to the bride and her groom! We were so happy to be able to help!

Family treasures

My husband and I are spending this 4th July weekend with his parents in VA.  And although it has been many years since my husband moved out from his family home, he still seems to have a variety of childhood and inherited things sitting in the garage and basement.  So, to try and sort out some of his treasures we have been going through them this weekend.
Some of the goodies from his grandfather's tool box are amazing - I just want to put them out on display!

(The packaging of these old electrical wires are amazing!)

And what could be more appropriate for this weekend than finding a beautiful wool flag (in a plastic furniture cover box of all places!!)

Happy 4th July!

Home grown hydrangeas

Nothing is more beautiful than a simple bouquet from the garden!
These gorgeous hydrangeas are fresh from my Mother-in-laws garden (her garden is brimming with bushes ladened with blooms).  Put in a vintage vase and voila, a simple yet elegant display!!

How does your garden grow

As this is our first summer with the Connecticut T&B garden, we are eager to see what we have growing in the garden already.  This weeks discovery was a big patch of Shasta Daisies.  Pretty, tall and great either by themselves or in a bouquet.
Can't wait to see what else pops up as the summer goes on!

Andrea and Bruce's wedding at Full Moon Resort

Last Sunday we had the pleasure of making the flowers and cake for Andrea and Bruce's wedding at the beautiful Full Moon Resort in upstate New York.
The bride and groom wanted a wildflower, freshly picked from nature looked (which we love!), and worked perfectly with the outdoor ceremony and the amazing barn that the reception was in.

We hope that you had a wonderful day Andrea and Bruce - we were happy to see that as the cermony was about to begin the grey clouds that had been hanging around all day broke and the sun shone through! : )

Congratulations to them both, and we were so happy to be able to work with them!

Thanks!
